You cannot access the C$ share of clients on Windows Vista or Windows 7, which are not in the domain. Only after setting the domain of the client, you can reach its C$ share.
You might also have to deactivate the simple share (see the requirements in the SMC How To, Chapter 8)
If no domain is available, you can set the C$ share through a Registry Key. Copy the following code in a file with the extension .reg:
***********************************************************************************Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]
"LocalAccountTokenFilterPolicy"=dword:00000001
***********************************************************************************
Or you can download the file from the link below:
SMC_Agent_Firewall_Windows_Vista_7.zip
Then run the file.
Note: You make Registry changes at your own risk!
Or you can install the SMC Agent locally, using installagent.bat as described in paragraph 11.1 in the SMC How To.
